HITEK Houston Window Film Installation Agreement
Choosing Film Type & Shade
Our technicians will gladly recommend film types and shades, but the final decision rests with you, the Client. If you select a film darker than the legal limit and receive a citation, responsibility lies solely with you. Once the material has been cut, any change of film type or shade will incur additional charges beyond the original quotation.
Deposit & Invoices
- Invoices – HITEK Houston will issue an invoice before completion of the project unless otherwise noted in the payment schedule. The Client agrees to pay all invoices by the stated due date. Unpaid or overdue invoices may result in suspension or termination of the project.
- Deposit – A non‑refundable deposit is required to secure an appointment unless written cancellation or rescheduling notice is received at least forty‑eight (48) hours in advance.
Payment Methods
Payment may be made by cash, Venmo, Cash App, Zelle, an approved payment card, or any other method accepted by HITEK Houston.
No Refunds
Once window‑film installation has begun—or once the project is completed—no refunds will be issued. Film quality and installation workmanship are deemed acceptable when released by the Owner of HITEK Houston.
The Client agrees to inspect the vehicle before making final payment and accepting the keys. Final payment constitutes an official release of HITEK Houston from further responsibility for the serviced vehicle. If the Client picks up the vehicle outside normal business hours, final payment is deemed acknowledgement that the work is satisfactory.
Imperfections
Some dust or lint may become trapped between the film and glass; this will not affect adhesion or performance. Even in a controlled environment a 100 % dust‑free installation cannot be guaranteed.
Per IWFA guidelines, film is inspected from the room side at a distance of six (6) feet under natural daylight. Installation is acceptable if, during the 30‑ to 60‑day curing period, the following are unobtrusive:
- Dirt or dust particles
- Hair or fibers
- Adhesive gels
- Fingerprints
- Minor air bubbles or water haze
- Light scores or scratches
- Slight optical distortion, creases, edge lifting, nicks, or tears
If any of these conditions persist after 30‑60 days, the Client must present the vehicle at our facility for evaluation. Inspections cannot be performed by phone, email, or photographs.
Viewing Standard – Once installed, window film is intended to be viewed from a distance of six (6) feet; variations within this standard are acceptable.
Warranties
HITEK Houston provides the Client with the applicable manufacturer’s warranty. Warranties are non‑transferable and cover cracking, peeling, bubbling, and fading (≤ 25 % over the warranty period is considered normal). Defective film will be replaced at no cost to the original purchaser; if the original product is unavailable, a comparable or superior film will be supplied.
Warranty coverage excludes scratches, nicks, tears, and damage caused by faulty vehicle equipment or customer abuse. Seat‑belt nicks and plastic‑gasket abrasions are particularly common and are not covered.
Windshield Film Installation
- Contamination Disclaimer – Although reasonable precautions are taken, a completely contamination‑free windshield install cannot be guaranteed. Minor micro‑creases resulting from the handling of large film pieces are possible and do not affect performance.
- Risk to Electronic Components – Water may come into contact with electronics behind the dashboard despite protective measures. The Client accepts this risk and releases HITEK Houston from liability for related repairs.
- Prohibited Attachments – Do not affix suction cups, stickers, or similar devices (e.g., radar detectors, phone mounts, GPS units) directly to the film. Damage resulting from such attachments is deemed customer‑caused and voids the warranty.
- Curing Process – Moisture trapped between film and glass is normal and will evaporate as the adhesive cures.
- Expected Duration – Full curing may take several days to a few weeks, depending on temperature and humidity.
Tint Removal
Professional film removal is performed with specialized steamers and adhesive‑removal techniques. Removal can damage defroster lines, antennas, or glass. The Client releases HITEK Houston from liability for damage that may occur during tint removal.
Card‑on‑File Authorization
The Client authorizes HITEK Houston to retain credit/debit‑card or bank information for future transactions until the Client requests removal in writing. HITEK Houston may charge the card for any remaining balance upon service completion.
Licensing
HITEK Houston affirms that it holds all licenses required to perform the work and that all services will comply with applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
Modifications
Any change to this contract must be made in writing and signed by both the Client and HITEK Houston.
Authority to Sign
Each party warrants that it has full authority to enter into this Agreement and to perform all obligations stated herein.
